英文裡的紫有很多種, 例如 mauve、purple、或是 regalia、violet, 也可稱作 lavender、periwinkle 或 iris, 有時甚至是 amethyst 或 eggplant, 以及像是 fuchsia、indigo 或 lilac, 少數情形還有 byzantium、thistle、wisteria、fandango 與 heliotrope.
