英文里的紫有很多种, 例如 mauve、purple、或是 regalia、violet, 也可称作 lavender、periwinkle 或 iris, 有时甚至是 amethyst 或 eggplant, 以及像是 fuchsia、indigo 或 lilac, 少数情形还有 byzantium、thistle、wisteria、fandango 与 heliotrope.
